Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Respond To "Data Is Corrupted" Error On PS4 1.5 Update

Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red finally dropped the next-gen Cyberpunk 2077 update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, following the release of update 1.5, many PS4 users suddenly discovered a “data is corrupted” error message whenever they attempted to play.
This isn’t the first time PS4 users have been left behind either, as many may remember that Cyberpunk 2077 was pulled from the PlayStation Store shortly after release due to the huge amount of issues with the console version.
Thankfully, the developers have since responded to the issue and stated that a fix is currently being looked into.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 Users Receive “Data Is Corrupted” Error Following 1.5 Update
The issue only appears to be affecting physical disc owners of Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4 following the release of this weeks 1.5 update. If you’re on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, or Google Stadia, you shouldn’t be encountering this issue.
An official fix for the issue hasn’t been released, by the error itself does state to “delete the application from the PS4 and insert the disc again”. Unfortunately, DualShockers cannot confirm if this actually fixes the issue, so try it at your own risk.

CD Projekt Red Responds To PS4 Error
According to the official Cyberpunk 2077 website, the developers are currently investigating the “data corrupted” error for Cyberpunk 2077 players on PS4. In a short statement, CD Projekt Red said:
“We are aware of an issue where “Cannot start the application. The data is corrupted. Delete the application from the PS4 and insert the disc again” error message appears after updating the game to 1.5 (1.51) on PS4, and looking into it. When submitting a ticket about this issue please provide your PSN ID, CUSA code, and region set on your console”.
