Demon Slayer PlayStation, Xbox, PC game to add demon characters in Versus mode playable roster

On August 23, the Japanese official Twitter for Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles confirmed that after the game is released, demon characters will be made playable in Versus mode. These characters will be added via free DLC updates. No names were dropped, but it’s very likely at the very least Muzan will be added. Several of the Twelve Kizuki should be added too. Rui, the antagonist of the Natagumo Mountain Arc, could be one of the possible choices too.

At release, there will be 18 playable characters in Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles:

New screenshots of Zenitsu and Inosuke playable in Adventure Mode

Until July 2021, only Tanjiro (and his Hinokami Kagura form) was confirmed as playable in Adventure Mode. Whenever a new character trailer dropped, it was explicitly stated in the Japanese press release that the character was only playable in Versus Mode, not in Adventure Mode.

However, for several weeks now, CyberConnect2 revealed both Zenitsu and Inosuke will be playable at some points of Adventure Mode. This August 23, several new screenshots were published as well, showing Zenitsu and Inosuke during the Natagumo Mountain Arc. You can find them in the gallery below.

Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles is releasing in Japan on October 14, and worldwide on October 15, 2021. The game is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft Windows, and Steam. There’s a digital limited edition you can pre-order as well. Be sure to follow the game’s Japanese Twitter account if you want to get the next news as fast as possible.
