How to Mass Release Pokémon in Legends Arceus

If you’ve filled up your Pastures in Pokémon: Legends Arceus and need to make some space, here’s how you can Mass Release Pokémon.

True to the spirit of Pokémon‘s slogan, catching a lot of Pokémon is important for a number of in-game mechanics. From filling up your Pokédex to getting more Grit for Effort Levels, catching ’em all pushes you to discover every bit of the in-game world and its inhabitants.

Though, sometimes it’s easy to get a little too enthusiastic about catching Pokémon. If your Pastures are starting to look a little full, you’ll probably want to start freeing up some space. Luckily, you’re able to Mass Release Pokémon in Legends Arceus, making it easier for you to organize your Pastures. Here’s how you can unlock Mass Release!

STEPS TO MASS RELEASE IN POKÉMON: LEGENDS ARCEUS

Firstly, Pokémon in Legends Arceus are stored in Pastures rather than the PC boxes of previous games. You can essentially “store” Pokémon you don’t currently need at these Pastures, ensuring that you’ll still have access to them in the future.

In order to use your Pastures and unlock Mass Release, you’ll want to talk to NPC Marie. You’ll find her in Jubilife Village standing next to a large sign.

Once you talk to Marie, the Pastures many will pop up onscreen. Each Pasture is a “box” able to store up to 30 Pokémon, and you’ll have access to 8 Pastures to start. That means you’ll be able to store 8 boxes of 30 Pokémon – a little less than the total number of Pokémon in the game. Luckily, you’ll be able to unlock more Pastures over time.

Now, in order to unlock Mass Release, you’ll need to first completely fill up at least 4 Pastures. Once you do, Marie will then let you know about the option to release several Pokémon at the same time.

It’s important to note that the number of filled Pastures, not the number of Pokémon, is what unlocks Mass Release. So, if you’re looking to get it quickly, it’ll be best to put all your Pokémon into the same boxes rather than organize them.

To actually Mass Release, speak to Marie one more time. This’ll open up the Pastures menu, and you can press X to Release Pokémon. You should now be able to select more than one Pokémon for this option! Each selected Pokémon will have a yellow checkmark by their icon.

And that’s how you unlock Mass Release in Pokémon: Legends Arceus. Just be sure to double-check you’re okay with your selections before releasing them all with “Yes”!
