SnowRunner PS5 & Xbox Series X|S Update Release Date & New Features

After being confirmed back in April, the official release date for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of SnowRunner is almost upon us.

The next-gen update will aim to increase the visual experience of SnowRunner, with 4K support and 60FPS becoming available for both platforms. So, whether you’re new to the series or you’ve been desperately waiting for the next-gen update, here’s everything you need to know.

SnowRunner PS5 & Xbox Series X|S Update Release Date

The official release date for the SnowRunner next-gen update is Tuesday, May 31st, 2022. All existing owners of SnowRunner on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will receive a free update to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version upon launch.

If you don’t currently own a copy of SnowRunner, the next-gen version will be available to purchase on the PlayStation and Xbox stores from the aforementioned date.

Unfortunately, the developers have not shared an exact release time for the update, but we will be sure to update this article should one be announced.

SnowRunner Next-Gen Features & Improvements

As confirmed by the Snowrunner developers back in April, the next-gen update for Snowrunner will allow the game to run at 4K UHD and 60 FPS on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Focus Entertainment also said that players will be able to play with up to 3 friends regardless of what platform they play on thanks to full crossplay support between all platforms.

Plus, with such treacherous terrain featured in Snowrunner, players will be able to feel every bump and groove of the gorgeous 4K environments thanks to the PS5’s haptic feedback support in the DualSense controller.
