Is Regigigas Good in Pokemon GO? Max CP and Best Moveset
Table of Contents
Following the trio of Regirock, Registeel and Regice, Regigigas has returned to Pokemon GO raids.
The Colossal Pokemon featured in Special Research, then EX raids and now, alongside its shiny form, makes its return to normal five-star raids.
This means the Pokemon is going to be widely available for the first time in quite a while.
But, is Regigigas good? Let’s take a look at its best moveset and max cp and judge that for ourselves.
What is the best moveset for Regigigas?
Unfortunately, Regigigas is a Normal-type Pokemon. This means that it’s not going to get STAB from many decent moves.
It does, however, mean it has a movepool that can pull from a range of different types.
You can find its best moveset below:
- Fast Move – Hidden Power (Ice)
- Charge Move – Thunder
- Charge Move – Focus Blast
As stated, none of these moves take advantage of STAB, however, they do offer good coverage in the Master League against some of the divisions strongest Pokemon.
Max CP and Meta Relevance – Is it Good?
One big benefit of Regigigas is its whopping cp. When at level 40, Regigigas has a max CP of 4346 and when powered up with XL Candies to level 50, falls just shy of 5000 with a max CP of 4913.
How does it perform in PVP?
Well, as you can imagine with that max CP, Regigigas isn’t eligible for the Great League.
It can participate in the Ultra League, however, it performs very, very badly. Pokemon GO ranking site PVPoke has Regigigas as the 488th best Pokemon in the division. Probably best you avoid using it here.
If you’re intent on using Regigigas, the Master League is the place to go. It ranks 72nd overall thanks to its high CP and moveset that can help wipe out some of the League’s best Pokemon including; Giratina, Dragonite, Togekiss and Snorlax.
So, is Regigigas good in Pokemon GO?
It’s fine. It has a bit of a niche in the Master League but ultimately, don’t expect it to set the world alight.
If you’re going to be raiding a lot, it could be fun to power it up just to use something a little different.
