Table of Contents

Marin Kitagawa, the heroine of My Dress-up Darling and one of the most popular anime characters this Winter 2022 season, is celebrating her birthday on March 5.

My Dress-up Darling is one of the most popular anime series this season most notably thanks to blending several genres pretty well. The series has both something for those looking for huge fanservice deliveries and those craving for a sweet love story. All mixed in with a deep-dive and explanations on various aspects of otaku culture and cosplay.

If you haven’t started it yet, I definitely recommend watching My Dress-up Darling if you’d like to get a better understanding of the cosplay scene in Japan.

My Dress-up Darling: Marin Kitagawa’s voice actor Hina Suguta tweets birthday message

Hina Suguta, the seiyuu (Japanese voice actor) of Marin, celebrated on Twitter, we translated her message below:

Hina Suguta: “I love Marin so much. I like everything about her, how she’s so honest with her feelings, the way she eats so much, and her innocent side as well. I’m so happy to have met her. I hope she’ll spend her birthday with Gojou”.

How to get your Marin Kitagawa birthday wallpaper

The official Twitter account for the series also shared some special wallpapers for PC, smartphones, and a Twitter banner.Get them on this page.

You can also check out a myriad of cosplays and fanart shared by fans on Twitter by looking up the hashtag #喜多川海夢生誕祭2022. Keep in mind though that a lot of the fanart is not safe for work. And some of the best artwork, most notably those shared by professional illustrators, is untagged:

My Dress-up Darling is originally known as Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru. It was originally a manga published by Gangan (Square Enix) by Shinichi Fukuda. And if you read the manga and check her author’s words at the end of the volumes, you’ll learn that she funnily didn’t know much about cosplay events in the first place before starting the manga. Just like the anime, it’s definitely an enjoyable read, you should check it out at Square Enix USA.
