Rick and Morty S5EP3 Recap

In the last episode, we saw Rick and Morty coming out of a store with custom Rick and Morty t-shirts. Then, a supervillain uses acid rain to destroy everything living and green; however, Planetina, a parody of Captain Planet, defeats him and catches the attention of Morty.

Morty uses the opportunity to spend some time with Planetina and leaves Rick behind. Morty then tries everything to spend some time with Planetina and pretends to care about the planet. On the other hand, Rick takes Summer to three different planetary apocalypses to have some fun.

Things get difficult for Morty when Planetina’s four children, who bring her to life with elemental rings, tries to sell her to an Arab person. Morty, who is now in love with Planetina, kills the children and steals their rings to free the environmentalist.

At first, things go very smoothly between Planetina and Morty; however, after a while, Planetina starts killing innocent people to save the planet. And because of this, Morty chooses to break with the superhero-turned-villain and drives her away.

Meanwhile, Rick falls in love with a strange alien, Daphne. But thanks to Summer averting an apocalypse, Rick learns Daphne doesn’t feel the same about him.

So, in the previous episode, Rick and Morty go through heartbreaks, but they deal with it differently. Morty uses his mother’s shoulders to cry his heart out, and on the other hand, Rick shrugs it off and moves on.
