Mass Effect Legendary Edition Release Time and Preload Details

Table of Contents

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is one of video game’s worst kept secrets from the last 12 months.

In the back half of last year, you couldn’t go a few days without it appearing on an international retailer’s store or popping up on ratings boards.

Thankfully, for fans of the series, the leaks turned out to be true and after a few months of anticipation, the game is just a couple of days out.

Here is the Mass Effect Legendary Edition release time and details on whether or not you can preload the game.

What’s Included in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition?

The official description of the contents is as follows:

Mass Effect Legendary Edition includes single-player base content for all 3 titles (Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3), your favorite single-player story DLC, promo weapons, armors and packs.

It’s been confirmed the game will be “fully remastered and optimised for 4k.”

What are the Preload Details?

The good news is, the game will be available to preload on both PlayStation and Xbox as of today, May 12.

Players will need to purchase the game, which will then allow them to download it on their platform of choice ready for it to unlock on launch.

What is the Mass Effect Legendary Edition Release Time.

Sony very rarely gives a specific release time on the PlayStation Store, however, with big titles like Mass Effect Legendary Edition, the release time is almost always midnight in player’s local timezones.

In terms of Xbox, the UK Store confirms that the game will be released at midnight on May 14:

The US Store on the other seems to suggest the game will be launching at 5 am on May 14, however, again, don’t be surprised if it actually unlocks at midnight too.

Again, Steam isn’t showing a specific release time, however, there are two possibilities – it unlocks at midnight, much like other platforms, or it drops at 8 am PT/11 am ET/4 pm BST, when the Steam Store updates.

Should we get any further confirmation or see of any changes, we will be sure to update this post.
