Cyberpunk 2077 Mod That Allows You to Have Sex With Keanu Reeves Banned

Cyberpunk 2077’s official modding tools have only been in the game for a short while, however, creators are already pushing some major boundaries. It’s these artistic licences, shall we call them, that have caused developer CD Projekt Red to outright ban one of the game’s more M Rated mods.

The mod allowed players to, kind of, have sexual relations with Keanu Reeves’ character, Jonny Silverhand. It only “kind of” lets you have sex with him due to the way it’s programmed, however. Instead of copulating with Silverhand himself, players do so with one of the game’s sexbots that have the character’s skin textures. The sexbots, or joytoys as they are known in the game, remain fully clothed and retain the robot’s original dialogue.

The mod, which was created by Catmino, was soon removed Nexus mods where it was being hosted. PC Gamer reached out to CD Projekt Red for comment and were told:

“Our most important rule regarding user-generated content, game mods in particular, is that it can’t be harmful towards others. In the case of model swaps, especially those that involve explicit situations, it can be perceived as such by the people who lent us their appearance for the purpose of creating characters in Cyberpunk 2077.”

Since the game’s launch last month, it has never been far away from controversy. There have been a variety of bugs and issues that have plagued the game, which have in turn lead to lawsuits, refunds and a number of apologies from the developers.

Despite its flaws, we scored the game an 8/10 in our official Cyberpunk 2077 review, saying: “Cyberpunk 2077 is a game unlike any other I’ve played, ever. Period. It’s wholly unique in terms of its content, its scale, and the story it tells. It throws you into a strange world glistening with chrome and neon and offers a plethora of options.”
